AI & Coding Classes
for Kids in Kolkata
Live online classes on Zoom for children aged 8–18, from Salt Lake and New Town to Behala and Howrah. Python, AI and real project work in batches of just 8, for ICSE, CBSE and West Bengal board students alike.
A city that loves maths, ready for AI
Kolkata has always taken maths and science seriously, with the Indian Statistical Institute and Jadavpur University in the city and IIT Kharagpur in the same state. Plural gives that curiosity somewhere to go: live classes where kids write code, train small AI models and finish things they can show you.
No trip across town
Every class is live on Zoom, so Salt Lake, Ballygunge, Jadavpur, Dum Dum or Howrah makes no difference. No bus, no Metro, no waiting out the rain.
Works with every board
ICSE, CBSE, WBBSE and WBCHSE students share batches. Plural follows its own tracks, so it adds to school instead of repeating it.
From blocks to Python
Younger kids begin with block coding and logic puzzles. Older kids move to Python, then to machine learning and AI APIs.
Built on careful thinking
Children who enjoy maths often love coding, because both reward working step by step. Students already writing Java at school find Python a quick, satisfying jump.
Max 8 kids per batch
Mentors from IIT Madras, IIM Ahmedabad, ex-Google teams and funded startups, who know each child and what they are building.

Three boards, one city: what each teaches about computers and AI
Kolkata is one of the few Indian cities where the CISCE boards are as familiar to parents as the state board. Many of the city's English-medium schools follow ICSE for Class 10 and ISC for Class 12, plenty of newer schools are CBSE, and a large number of students study under the state system: the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE), which runs the Madhyamik exam in Class 10, and the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) for Classes 11 and 12.
ICSE and ISC. ICSE Computer Applications and ISC Computer Science both teach programming in Java. CISCE has also added a Robotics and Artificial Intelligence subject for ICSE Classes 9 and 10, which includes Python programming assignments alongside robotics and AI concepts.
West Bengal Higher Secondary. WBCHSE now runs Classes 11 and 12 on a semester system and offers Artificial Intelligence and Data Science as an elective in schools that have the set-up for it. For 2026–27 the council has announced further courses, including Applied Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security, with online sessions after school hours for enrolled students.
CBSE. CBSE schools in the city follow the national Computational Thinking and AI curriculum for Classes 3 to 8 from the 2026–27 session, and offer AI as a skill subject in Classes 9 and 10.
What this means for your child: school introduces the ideas, often through Java or theory for an exam. Plural gives time to build in Python with a small group. For an ICSE student choosing Robotics and AI in Class 9, or a Madhyamik student weighing the AI elective for Higher Secondary, a few months of hands-on coding first makes the choice much easier. If you're deciding between options, our guide on how to choose an AI course for kids lists what to look for.
Planning around school, monsoon and Pujo
Many Kolkata schools start early in the morning, and the trip home by school bus, Metro, auto or car can take a good part of the afternoon. Between tuition and homework, an activity that needs more travel rarely survives the term. Plural is live on Zoom, so your child joins from the desk they already study at.
Batches run on weekday evenings and weekend mornings. Exact times change as batches open, so we share the current options on WhatsApp once you reserve a seat, and you choose what fits your child's routine.
Board years need a little planning. WBBSE has scheduled the Madhyamik 2027 exams for 15 to 25 February 2027. Under WBCHSE's semester system, Class 12 students have a third-semester exam in the autumn and the final fourth-semester exam in February. ICSE, ISC and CBSE board exams also begin in February. If your child is in a board year, talk to us about timing before you start.
Two Kolkata seasons are worth a thought. Heavy monsoon rain can waterlog roads and make any trip across town a struggle, but it doesn't touch a class at home. And over the long Puja holidays many families travel; Zoom works anywhere with a steady connection, so just let your mentor know if you'll be away.
Bengal-sized problems for young builders
Ideas, not homework: problems Kolkata kids see around them that make good projects at different ages. For more, browse our list of AI projects for kids at home.
Waterlogging map
A shared map where neighbours mark flooded streets after heavy rain, so families can pick a drier route to school or tuition.
Cyclone checklist
Bengal has faced severe cyclones such as Amphan in 2020. A teen could build an app that turns a weather warning into simple steps for a household.
Bengali language helper
A tool that reads Bengali text aloud, or a flashcard game that helps a younger sibling learn the Bengali alphabet.
Pandal-hopping planner
A Pujo route planner that suggests an order for visiting pandals and guesses crowd levels by time of day, using data kids collect themselves.
Across the Hooghly
A trip planner comparing Metro, bus and ferry, or for younger kids, a block-coded quiz about the trams and the Howrah Bridge.
Para shop tools
A price tracker or a simple catalogue website for a local shop or family business, from sweets to saris.
